About
Angus
Originally from the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders, I have been walking and biking in the mountains of Scotland for fifteen years. This has included everything from cross country, enduro and downhill mountain bike racing to wilderness bikepacking, mountaineering and rock climbing. Outside the UK, I have climbed in the Pyrenees and the Polish Tatra, as well as bikepacking across the Netherlands and Germany.
Whilst there is lots of fun to be had in the competing for faster times, longer distances and more challenging routes in adventure sports, I firmly believe that our rugged mountains and glens are just great places to be immersed in and to experience. I want to help others to access and enjoy our wild places through my guiding work.
I am a qualified mountain leader, mountain bike leader and outdoor first aider as well as being a Cytech technical two certified mechanic with twelve years’ experience working in the cycling industry. Over the past couple of years I have worked as a freelance guide for a number of UK based companies, as well as with my own clients. As a member of the Mountain Training Association and a student at the School of Adventure Studies, I am constantly taking part in professional development to keep my skills current.
In my free time, you will likely find me out mountaineering, climbing or bikepacking with friends in Lochaber’s mountains.
